ENVIRO is a compilation of paintings, drawings and prints done over the course of my art career. The paintings are done in acrylics and mixed media on canvas and watercolor paper. I have created many different series on specific themes over the years, including the “beach series” and the “health series.” The work in this exhibit is not a series, but is artwork that was created over time, expressing what was going on in the environment, in my life and around the world.

Wendy Csoka has been painting large, colorful acrylic paintings for over 40 years. Her images touch the mind, the heart and the soul. These unique works are nothing short of artistic revelation. This is art that you never look at twice in the same way.

“These are images that evolve upon further inspection and introspection.”– from a quote by Robert Spiotto

In March 2000, Wendy received a Certificate of Recognition from Governor Pataki of New York for “your contribution to the world of arts and strong commitment to women’s health issues.” In August 2000, she was invited to exhibit her work at Governor Pataki’s mansion in Albany, NY.

In June 2001, Wendy was one of the women selected to represent the Fifth Senate District as a New York State Senate “Woman of Distinction” by Senator Carl Marcellino. The award program recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of New York State’s exceptional women.

Wendy’s career and art are the subject of a book, “Everything is asleep until it wakes up.” The book was written and published by her husband, Frank Csoka, when he was given a sabbatical from the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC. Available on wendycsoka.com
